Annette Fargas
State-authorised translator

  Annette Fargas

I was born in Denmark, the child of a Danish mother and Spanish-Catalan father, and grew up bilingual in Danish and Spanish in a multilingual environment where English and Catalan were also spoken.

In 1982 I graduated from the Copenhagen Business School with a Business Language Diploma in English, followed in 1984 by an MA in Translation and Interpreting in Spanish, also from the Copenhagen Business School. In 1985 I qualified as a state-authorised translator for Danish4Spanish and Spanish4Danish.

I worked as a staff translator for the translation company IFF Institut for Fagsprog, which in 1989 was taken over by Berlitz, later Berlitz GlobalNET Denmark A/S, which in 2002 was taken over in turn by Bowne Global Solutions Denmark A/S. In 2003 I decided to become a freelance translator, and founded Fargas Translations.

20 years' experience of working on all kinds of texts and a wide variety of language-related jobs has given me an insight into the many aspects of the translation process.
